For over 16 years, the Family Center for Health Care has been delivering family medicine including preventative care and obstetrical services to residents of Colby, Thomas County, and Northwest Kansas.  Our slogan is “Our Family Taking Care of Your Family” and we try to live up to this expectation every day.  We see our clinic as your medical home where you can receive all your family and obstetrical care in one place.  Our physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners provide Medical Services to patients of all ages, this includes: the management of all acute illnesses, immunizations, chronic disease management, and Obstetrical Services.

We offer 14 Primary Care Providers .  Our six (6) physicians are the only residency trained Board Certified Family Practice physicians in the community.  Our four (4) experienced nurse practitioners have deep roots in the community with all of them starting their education in local high schools. Our four (4) Physician Assistants have over 25 years of combined experience and are skilled in primary and preventative care.

We offer convenient hours through our early morning walk-in clinic, late afternoon appointments, and Saturday morning urgent care clinic. See our hours and see Standard Provider Schedule here. You should expect to get in on the same day if you have an acute illness and within one to two weeks for general exams, such as physicals.  We work with insurance plans to be able to accept all major insurances and networks.  We can help you by developing Payment Arrangements for those with high deductibles and co-insurance.  We offer discounts to patients without insurance and a sliding fee program for those who qualify financially.

New Patients:

If you are new to Family Center for Healthcare, we ask that:

  • Prior to your first appointment that you arrange to have your medical records transferred to our office from your previous doctor’s office.  Having the medical records available at the office before you are seen helps the medical providers and staff know more about your medical history.  You can mail, fax, or hand carry your records to our office.  Our fax number is (785)-460-1490. See our Medical Records for more information.
  • Please bring your identification and insurance cards. The identification card allows us to verify your information.  If you do not have these cards, please let the front desk know when you are making the appointment.
  • Please have a copy of your child’s immunization records at the time of appointment.
  • If you are taking any medications (prescription or nonprescription) please bring them to the appointment.

Additional information can be found in the Answers to Frequently Asked Questions on the Clinic Information page.
