The Laboratory department at Citizens Medical Center provides specimen testing services to the medical center, Family Center for Health Care, and Prairie Senior Living Complex.  To fulfill our goal of providing accurate and timely results we offer specimen testing that includes: basic and advanced laboratory tests, employment testing, and Direct Access Testing.  We provide you and your health care team with the diagnostic results needed to provide for your well-being.

Specimen Testing:

Specimen testing involves the analysis of blood and other body fluids with the goal of providing diagnostic and treatment information that improves the quality of the care you receive.  We offer a full line of tests, both basic and advanced.  We seek to provide our health care providers and staff with the results they need in the areas of: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Immunology, Histology, Microbiology, Virology, Toxicology, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Cytology, Endocrinology, Pathology, Substance Abuse, Serology, and Blood Transfusion Services.  Our Microbiology department is networked with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment allowing us to quickly discuss samples with them if the concern arises.

Employment Testing:

Our laboratory services allow us to provide D.O.T., non D.O.T. drug collections and breath alcohol testing. Drug screen hours are Monday - Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm.  Post Accident Testing ONLY open 24/7

Direct Access Testing:

We understand, increasingly, that people are wishing to monitor their health status, be more involved in their health care, and improve the relationship they have with their medical provider.  Due to the quality of our laboratory department which provides us the ability to provide accurate results to our patients, we now offer Direct Access Testing.  To receive the maximum benefit we suggest you discuss the results with your medical provider so that the results can be properly interpreted with the knowledge of your particular medical history.

To participate in Direct Access Testing please check in at the admissions department, remit your payment, and proceed to the Laboratory department with a Direct Access Testing Acquisition form.
