Tricia Carney, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas in 2006 and her Master’s degree in nursing from Graceland University in 2008. Tricia has practiced in the emergency department, medical-surgical unit, acute care, and infection control.

“I am invested in this community and I feel a special relationship with the people and patients I see. Living in a small community I feel fortunate that my patients are neighbors, friends, and family. I love rural health care for that reason. Living in a community such as ours I get to hear stories that are my patient’s lives and I love that I get to be a part of that. I know how important my family is to me and I take great pride and respect in the trust that other families give me. I am grateful that I am not restricted to an area of health care but that I get to participate in caring for those of all ages and conditions. I believe we all have something to learn and something to teach. I gain from my patients as much as they do from me. If I had to pick an area I especially like, it would be women’s health.”

Tricia is particularly interested in providing women’s health services. She has specialty training and certification in: Trauma Nurse Core Course, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.

Tricia was raised in Selden, KS and graduated from Rexford High School. Tricia and her husband James keep track of four very active children: Tate, Jersey, Jaxson, and Journey. She enjoys anything involving her family. Her children are active in wrestling, swimming, baseball, dance, and football. When she is not involved with her family she enjoys volleyball and sewing.
